January 2025 Freight Brokerage Data: A Positive Outlook

The fall in active freight brokerages appears to have stabilized since Q4 of 2024. In January, the net decrease was only 63, bringing the total down to 25,271. The year-over-year decline in freight brokerages was 9.9% in January, signaling a deceleration of the trend over the past two years.

This stabilization is a significant data point indicating that the freight market is on the path to improvement. The outlook for 2025 suggests a more positive year for brokers and carriers compared to the period since early 2022. Economic trends are currently taking shape, fostering optimism across the freight market.
